This is the story of the virtually untold history of black servicemen who fought for the Allies in World War Two, returned home to the Caribbean, and then immigrated to the UK as civilians in the post-war period. They had fought under the British flag and risked their lives to keep the country free from Hitler’s Nazis only to have to fight another battle to be accepted as UK citizens.  The personal stories of 14 former military personnel – black and white – are revealed in moving, often witty testimonies, with some unexpected surprises.
